Youth Tour 2024 Winner - Dawson Hammond
Dawson Hammond, a sophomore at Malta High School had a winning essay for this year’s Washington Youth Tour contest. The essay title was "If you could have dinner with one prominent Washington, D.C. figure, whether from the present or past, who would that person be and why? What would you ask them?"
Big Flat Electric sponsors a student or students every year for this trip.
Dawson will travel with other winners from the Montana Rural Electric Cooperatives to Washington, D.C. in June of 2024. They will be joining 1500 other students from all over the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska for a fun filled week of sightseeing.
They will meet with Montana members of congress, visit many memorials, and see many other Washington, D.C. places of interest.
Dawson is the son of Nate Hammond and Kari Hammond of Malta. Congratulations, Dawson.
